Recently, I’ve been struggling to get work done and actually accomplish much. It’s not that I don’t want to do the work; I really do.

I’m the type of person who would go to extremes, planning every second of my day to ensure I’m in the right working zone without any distractions.

I recently published a guide on how I program myself to become extremely productive. If you’re interested, here’s the post to learn more about it: Instagram link

However, I started to question if something else was at play here. I’m definitely following the right tactics and practices, but I still can’t seem to get myself into that zone.

When I dug deep into this, I discovered a key piece that was missing.

And that was love.

When I was little, my mom and dad didn’t force me to go play football. I’d wake up two hours earlier just because I was so excited.

I’d fail to wake up on time for school, but I’d never miss a day of practice. And when I say I always went to the extreme, I even practiced alone on days when there were no official practices.

It may sound crazy, but you might be missing that kind of love in the work you do. Because once you find it, it’s hard not to do the work.

That’s when I began searching for the things I truly like.

I went deep into understanding myself, doing psychometric tests like the Myers-Briggs test, and reflecting on my YouTube history and the books I’ve read.

But one thing I did really got to me, and I think you should try it.

Think about your favorite movie of all time. Pause for a moment, stop reading this, and really think about it for a second.

Because what I’m about to tell you next might ruin it for you if you read it before thinking about the movie.

You ready?

Okay, the reason why that movie is your favorite is because you imagine yourself as the main character of that movie.

And that shifts a lot of things. Once you really study the character's behaviors and traits, you’ll notice that many of them are aligned with yours.

Once you learn about yourself—who you are and what you like—it’s like planting a seed.

And that’s a really important part because the seed needs to be good in order to grow.

But once you’ve found it, that’s when it becomes fun. The reason is, instead of watering it every day because you have to, you will do it because you want to.

And such seeds grow exponentially.

So the answer lies in love. Find the love, and work will become the easiest thing you’ll ever have to do.
